A horrific incident unfolded in Anyinasin Junction, situated in the Eastern Region, as four victims trapped in the Hyundai truck were burnt beyond recognition.

A female survivor, rescued by bystanders before the arrival of firefighters, is currently on admission at the Akim Asafo Health Centre.

Three occupants of the trailer reportedly escaped unhurt before the vehicle was fully engulfed in flames.

The charred bodies were retrieved by firefighters and handed over to the police for preservation and further investigation. Both vehicles were destroyed.

The cause of the crash and subsequent fire is currently under investigation.

The Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS), with support from the Ghana Police Service, managed the scene and restored traffic flow by 09:06 hours.

GNFS commended its personnel for their swift response and professionalism, while also expressing appreciation to the police for their support.

The Service further cautioned motorists to adhere strictly to road safety regulations to prevent similar tragedies.
