Real Madrid completes signing of Yan Diomande

Real Madrid have officially confirmed the signing of highly rated Ivorian winger Yan Diomande, bringing an end to one of the summer’s most closely followed transfer sagas.

The 19-year-old joins the Spanish giants after choosing a move to the Santiago Bernabéu ahead of French champions Paris Saint-Germain (PSG), who had also shown strong interest in securing his signature.

PSG officially withdrew from the race before the transfer was completed, insisting they would not compromise their financial principles or disrupt the balance of their squad to sign the talented attacker.

In a statement explaining their decision, the Ligue 1 champions said they would not abandon their policy of responsible financial management or become involved in what they described as inflated transfer negotiations.

The club added that it remains focused on strengthening the squad through a disciplined and sustainable approach during the summer transfer window.

Diomande’s arrival is another major investment by Real Madrid in young talent as the club continues its long-term strategy of recruiting some of football’s brightest prospects.

The Côte d’Ivoire international has earned widespread praise for his pace, technical ability and creativity, establishing himself as one of the most exciting young forwards in European football.

His impressive performances for RB Leipzig last season attracted interest from several top European clubs, but the player ultimately chose Real Madrid as the next destination in his career.

The move further strengthens Madrid’s attacking options ahead of the 2026/27 campaign as the club looks to compete for domestic and European honours.

Club officials believe Diomande has the potential to become one of the world’s leading attackers and see him as a key part of the team’s future.
