Len Clay stadium hosts AshantiGold ‘O4 coronation clash on Sunday

The match between AshantiGold ‘O4 and King Faisal has been moved from the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi to the Len Clay Stadium in Obuasi due to a mutual agreement between both clubs, mainly to allow AshantiGold ‘O4 to host their coronation celebration in their home city after winning the Access Bank Division One League Zone Two title.

AshantiGold ’04 has already secured the 2025/26 Division One League Zone Two championship, meaning the final game of the season is no longer just a competitive fixture for them but a celebration of their promotion achievement.

Because of this, both clubs agreed that Obuasi would be the more suitable venue for a proper “homecoming” atmosphere for the champions.

King Faisal, who were originally scheduled to host the final match at Baba Yara Stadium, accepted the request as a gesture of sportsmanship, allowing the game to serve as a coronation match for AshantiGold ‘O4.

This means the fixture will now officially double as a title celebration event for the Obuasi-based club.

The decision also benefits AshantiGold ‘O4 supporters, who will now get the opportunity to celebrate their team’s success at the Len Clay Stadium, which is closely associated with the club’s history and identity.
