The Ghana Football Association’s (GFA) Club Licensing Department has reminded all 48 Division One League clubs that Sunday, August 9, 2026, remains the final deadline for submitting applications for the 2026/27 Club Licensing process.
The participating clubs are required to complete their licensing applications and upload all mandatory supporting documents through the Club Licensing Online Platform (CLOP) on or before the stated deadline.
In a notice to the clubs, the department stressed that there will be no extension after the deadline and urged all teams to treat the process with the seriousness it deserves.
The Club Licensing process is a key requirement for clubs seeking approval to participate in GFA-organised competitions. It is designed to ensure that clubs meet established administrative, financial, sporting and infrastructural standards before being allowed to compete.
The GFA warned that clubs that fail to submit complete applications within the approved period could face sanctions in line with the Club Licensing Regulations. Among the possible penalties is a declaration of ineligibility to participate in the 2026/27 Division One League season.
The Licensing Department said it will continue to monitor the progress of submissions and provide support to clubs that require assistance throughout the process. However, clubs have been encouraged to avoid waiting until the final hours to submit their documents due to possible technical and administrative challenges.
The department noted that early submission would allow adequate time for applications to be reviewed and assessed, helping to ensure a smooth licensing exercise ahead of the new football season.
