The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has announced the schedule for the 2026/27 Division One League season, with the campaign set to begin across all three zones from September 18 to 21, 2026.
The new season will run until May 24, 2027, with clubs set to compete across 30 match weekends for promotion to the Ghana Premier League.
The competition will maintain its three-zone structure, with Zone One divided into Zone 1A and Zone 1B. Each of the two sub-zones will have eight teams, while Zone Two and Zone Three will feature 16 clubs each.
The upcoming campaign will also see 10 newly promoted clubs join the competition after securing qualification from the lower division.
Kalibi SC will compete in Zone 1A, while Steadfast FC, Techiman Eleven Wonders and Bactero FC have been placed in Zone 1B.
Zone Two will welcome Ebiemo FC, Fetteman FC and Pro Sports Academy, adding new competition to the zone.
In Zone Three, Kotoku Royals, Nukunu Sporting Academy and 7th Wave FC will make their Division One League appearances following promotion.
The inclusion of the new clubs is expected to add further competition to the league as they face established sides with greater experience at the second tier of Ghanaian football.
The Division One League remains an important pathway to the Ghana Premier League, with clubs battling throughout the season for the opportunity to move into the country’s top-flight competition.
The GFA’s decision to maintain the existing zonal arrangement is expected to help reduce the challenges associated with long-distance travel while ensuring competitive football across the country.
