The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has petitioned the Confederation of African Football (CAF) to intervene in a ticketing situation that has left hundreds of Ghanaian supporters without access to today’s 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Côte d’Ivoire.
About 500 Ghanaian fans who travelled to Bouaké to support the Black Stars are reportedly without tickets for the Group C opening fixture at the Stade de la Paix.
The situation emerged after the Ivorian Football Federation (FIF) indicated that tickets for the highly anticipated encounter had been sold out.
The GFA received its official ticket allocation during the Match Coordination Meeting (MCM) held on Wednesday.
However, the allocation is not enough to accommodate the large number of Ghanaian supporters who have made the trip to Côte d’Ivoire.
In response, the GFA has formally written to CAF requesting an additional block of approximately 500 tickets to enable the stranded supporters to attend the match.
The Association has also brought the matter to the attention of the Match Commissioner, who has assured the GFA of his assistance in finding a solution.
The GFA says it remains committed to ensuring that the Ghanaian supporters who travelled to Bouaké are given the opportunity to watch the match and cheer on the Black Stars.
