Former New Patriotic Party (NPP) General Secretary John Boadu has expressed appreciation to party members and supporters across the Oti Region and the five northern regions for their support during his campaign tour.
John Boadu, who is seeking to become the NPP’s next National Chairman, said the tour ended successfully and described the reception from party supporters as deeply humbling.
In a statement issued on Saturday, he said his interactions with party executives and grassroots members had reinforced the need for unity and organisational reforms as the NPP prepares for the next general election.
According to him, party members across the northern sector shared a common view that the NPP must unite, reorganise its structures, reconnect with its grassroots base and regain its electoral strength.
John Boadu said his campaign was focused on “Bringing Back the Winning Ways of the NPP”, with the aim of creating a stronger, more disciplined and election-ready party.
He said the party must position itself to compete effectively in the 2028 general elections and beyond.
The former General Secretary also reaffirmed his support for the NPP’s presidential candidate, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, saying the broader objective was to help the party return to power and secure victory for its flagbearer in the next presidential election.
John Boadu expressed gratitude to constituency and regional executives, former Members of Parliament, former chief executives of state institutions, members of the Council of Elders, former Metropolitan, Municipal and District Chief Executives, former regional ministers and party stewards for their participation in the tour.
He also acknowledged the support from the Tertiary Students’ Confederacy Network (TESCON) and other grassroots members, describing their presence, warm reception and endorsements as encouraging.
The NPP National Chairman hopeful further thanked his campaign team, social media team and members of the media for their contribution to the campaign.
He said the campaign would continue with a renewed commitment to rebuilding the party and preparing it for the next electoral contest.
“The journey continues, and together, we will see it through,” John Boadu said, expressing confidence that the party could regain its winning position.
