Former Liverpool forward Roberto Firmino has revealed that he continues to closely follow the club, three years after ending his successful spell at Anfield.
Firmino, who became a fan favourite during his time with Liverpool, said he still tries to watch all of the club’s matches and remains emotionally attached to the team.
“It’s been three years since I left, but I still try to watch all of Liverpool’s matches,” the Brazilian said.
The forward spent several successful years at Liverpool, helping the club win major trophies and establish itself as one of Europe’s top teams during his time on Merseyside.
Firmino said Liverpool holds a special place in his heart because of the treatment he and his family received during his time at the club.
“The club means everything to me and my family. The people there always treated us so well,” he said.
The Brazilian also reflected on some of the memorable moments of his Liverpool career, including important goals, trophy celebrations and the famous parades through the streets of the city.
“We have so many amazing memories. There was so much joy with the goals I was able to score, the trophies that we won and the parades we had around the city,” Firmino added.
He described his time at Liverpool as a blessing and expressed pride in what he achieved with the club.
“It was a gift from God to be able to play there for so long. I’m proud of what we achieved,” he said.
Firmino joined Liverpool in 2015 and became an important part of the team under manager Jürgen Klopp. Alongside Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mané, he formed one of the most effective attacking partnerships in European football.
During his time at Anfield, Firmino helped Liverpool win the UEFA Champions League, Premier League, FA Cup, League Cup and FIFA Club World Cup, among other honours.
