Former Real Madrid and Bayern Munich defender David Alaba is set to continue his career in Italy after reportedly agreeing to join Udinese as a free agent.
The experienced Austrian defender is expected to sign a contract with the Serie A club until June 2027, according to the report announcing the move.
Alaba, who is currently a free agent, has reportedly completed his medical in Rome as Udinese move closer to finalising the deal.
The transfer will see the 34-year-old bring a wealth of experience to the Italian club after an illustrious career that has included spells at some of Europe’s biggest clubs.
Alaba spent the majority of his senior career at Bayern Munich, where he established himself as one of Europe’s leading defenders. During his time in Germany, he won numerous domestic and international trophies.
He later moved to Real Madrid, where he continued to compete at the highest level and added further major honours to his collection.
The defender’s experience could prove valuable to Udinese as they strengthen their squad for the new season.
The reported agreement is for one year, with the contract set to run until June 2027.
