Former First Deputy Speaker of Parliament Joseph Osei-Owusu, popularly known as Joe Wise, has disclosed that a senior member of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) sees unity within the New Patriotic Party (NPP) as a major concern for their party.
According to Joe Osei-Owusu, the NDC figure told him that the NPP becomes a strong electoral force whenever its members put aside their differences and unite.
Speaking during an interview, the former Deputy Speaker said the NDC figure acknowledged the political strength of the NPP when the party is able to present a united front.
He said the NDC member’s comments were based on the belief that internal unity has a direct impact on the NPP’s ability to compete effectively during elections.
“An NDC person told me that their biggest worry is when the NPP comes together,” Joe Osei-Owusu said.
He explained that the NDC figure believed the opposition party could become difficult to defeat when its leaders and supporters work together.
Joe Wise made the comments during a conversation about the NPP’s preparation for its next phase of internal reorganisation following the 2024 general election.
