ECG announces six-hour power outage in parts of Ashanti on Tuesday

The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) has announced a six-hour power outage in parts of the Ashanti Region on Tuesday, August 25, 2026.

The interruption will last from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. to allow ECG to carry out planned maintenance works aimed at improving the reliability and quality of electricity supply.

According to the company, several communities and enclaves across the region will be affected.

The affected areas include Effiduase, Apemso, Asekyerewa and the Senkyi enclaves.

Other communities expected to experience the outage are Asenua, parts of Ahwiaa, Overseas, Maase, Simms SHS, parts of Fawoade, Adumakase Kese, Wawase and Meduma.

“ECG regrets the inconvenience that will arise out of this exercise,” the statement dated Saturday, August 22, noted.

ECG said the planned maintenance is necessary to improve service delivery and ensure a more reliable power supply to customers.
