The High Commission cautioned that the demonstrations could result in traffic congestion, road closures, movement restrictions and potential clashes between protesters and law enforcement officers.

As part of precautionary measures, Ghanaians were urged to stay away from protest sites and large gatherings, avoid unnecessary trips to the affected central business districts, and consider alternative routes when travelling.

The mission also encouraged nationals to stay informed through local media, traffic reports and security updates issued by the South African Police Service and relevant municipal authorities.

Additionally, Ghanaians were advised to avoid confrontations, maintain communication with family members and community leaders, and report any incidents involving threats, intimidation or violence to the nearest police station.

The High Commission further requested that nationals who require consular support notify the mission of any security-related incidents affecting them.
