Alhaj Saalim Bamba, a two-term Ashanti Regional Nasara Organiser of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has suspended his campaign activities indefinitely following an accident involving a vehicle in his campaign convoy.
Salim Bamba is seeking to become the NPP’s National Nasara Organiser and had been travelling across the country as part of his campaign activities.
The accident occurred on Monday, September 7, 2026, while the campaign team was travelling from Tumu in the Upper West Region to Wa. The team had earlier been in Bolgatanga in the Upper East Region for a campaign engagement.
A statement issued by the campaign team said several people who sustained injuries in the accident had received medical treatment and were subsequently discharged.
However, one of the injured persons was transferred to the Wenchi Methodist Hospital for further medical attention.
The statement was signed by Alhaji Suwaari Ibrahim A-Rahman, spokesperson for the campaign team.
According to the campaign, the decision to halt all activities was taken to enable the team to concentrate on the health and recovery of those affected by the incident.
The campaign did not announce a new date for the resumption of its activities. The suspension will therefore remain in place until further notice.
The team expressed gratitude to Allah for protecting those involved in the accident and thanked members of the public and supporters who had reached out to express concern and offer assistance.
It also appealed to the public to continue praying for the affected members, particularly the person who remains at the Wenchi Methodist Hospital receiving further treatment.
