Six people have been arrested by the Central Regional Police Command following a violent clash at New Winneba and surrounding communities in the Central Region.
The incident, which occurred on Tuesday, September 1, is believed to be linked to a dispute over land. Three people were reportedly killed, while 19 others suffered serious injuries during the violence.
The affected communities include Gomoa Oguakrom, Gomoa Yenkuadze and Gomoa Pomadze.
According to reports, the violence began when a group of people allegedly armed with weapons entered the communities and attacked residents. The incident led to widespread violence and left several people injured.
A police officer was also among those who sustained injuries during the clashes.
The injured victims were taken to the Trauma and Specialist Hospital in Winneba, where they received medical treatment.
Following the incident, the Central Regional Police Command arrested six suspects in connection with the attacks and rioting.
The police identified the suspects as 52-year-old Kweku Kakraba, 19-year-old Arko Thomas, 19-year-old Samuel Tulasi, 22-year-old Samuel Gyasi, 22-year-old Emmanuel Okyere and 22-year-old Seth Osei.

The Inspector General of Police has also ordered additional security personnel to be deployed to the affected communities to restore calm and protect residents.
As part of the security measures, two armoured vehicles have been sent to the area to support the police and protect lives and property.
The situation is being closely monitored by the security agencies as investigations continue.
