The Pilgrims’ Affairs Office of Ghana (PAOG) has announced that the official fare for the 2027 Hajj pilgrimage has been maintained at GH¢60,000.
The amount is the same as the fare charged for the 2026 Hajj, providing prospective pilgrims with an early indication of the cost of participating in next year’s pilgrimage.
In a statement, PAOG said the collection of payments for the 2027 Hajj has commenced with immediate effect.
Registration will be conducted on a first-come, first-served basis and will end when Ghana’s allocated quota for the pilgrimage is fully taken.
The office has also directed intending pilgrims to make payments only through approved channels. These include accredited Hajj agents who use the official PAOG payment code or direct payments to PAOG through its designated accounts with GCB Bank.
PAOG stressed that it would not accept responsibility for payments made through unauthorised individuals, agents or other channels.
The Chairman of the PAOG/Ghana Hajj Board, Alhaji Abdul-Rauf Tanko Ibrahim, has urged prospective pilgrims to begin the process early by completing their payments and submitting all required documents.
He said early preparation would help pilgrims avoid difficulties that could arise from last-minute arrangements.
PAOG has further cautioned the public against dealing with unaccredited agents or intermediaries in connection with the 2027 Hajj.
The warning is aimed at reducing the risk of fraud and protecting prospective pilgrims from losing their money to unauthorised persons.
