The Speaker of Parliament, Alban Sumana Kingsford Bagbin, has officially announced the next sitting of Ghana’s legislature.

In a notice released from his office in Accra on Monday, May 4, 2026, he informed Members and the public that the Second Meeting of the Second Session of the Ninth Parliament of the Fourth Republic will begin on Thursday, May 21, 2026.

The session will start at 10:00 a.m. at Parliament House.

He announced in line with Order 58 of the Standing Orders of Parliament, which guides how such meetings are formally communicated.

Speaker Bagbin explained that the notice prepares lawmakers and key stakeholders for the return to parliamentary work.

He expects MPs to gather and continue their duties without delay.

During the meeting, the House will resume discussions on important national issues. Lawmakers will also consider bills and decisions that affect the daily lives of citizens.

The upcoming sitting will give the House another opportunity to address matters of public interest and move forward with its legislative responsibilities.
