The campaign team of New Patriotic Party (NPP) National Organiser aspirant Daniel Nii Kwartei Titus-Glover has dismissed suggestions that Salam Mustapha withdrew from the race because of pressure or interference from individuals or party structures.
The campaign said Salam Mustapha’s decision was a personal one based on his assessment of the National Organiser contest and his chances of securing victory.
In a statement signed by Stonewall, an aide to Titus-Glover, the campaign urged party members to avoid linking the withdrawal to any external influence.
The statement stressed that Salam Mustapha carefully considered his position before deciding to end his bid for the National Organiser position.
Salam Mustapha, who serves as the NPP National Youth Organiser, announced his withdrawal on Wednesday, September 9, ahead of the party’s national executive elections. He cited “circumstances beyond my control” but did not provide further details about what informed his decision.
His withdrawal has reduced the number of candidates contesting the National Organiser position, with Titus-Glover among those remaining in the race.
The Titus-Glover campaign has therefore called on supporters and other party members to respect Salam Mustapha’s decision and allow the circumstances surrounding it to remain a personal matter.
The campaign also reaffirmed Titus-Glover’s commitment to his bid and said he would continue his engagement with delegates across the country.
According to the statement, the former Greater Accra Regional Minister will focus on listening to delegates and presenting his plans for what he describes as a stronger, more united and better-organised NPP.
The campaign expressed confidence in the delegates ahead of the October 3, 2026 national executive elections, which will determine the party’s next national officers. The NPP completed balloting for the elections on September 9.
