No injuries recorded after fire at Tema Free Zones warehouse — Melcom

Melcom Limited has confirmed that a fire occurred at one of its warehouse facilities located in the Tema Free Zones enclave on Saturday, July 4, 2026.

The company reassured the public that there were no casualties or injuries reported as a result of the incident.

In a statement released by the management of the Melcom Group of Companies on Sunday, July 5, it was noted that while the fire impacted one of its warehouse facilities, the safety and well-being of its employees, partners, and the surrounding communities remain the company’s top priority.

“We are deeply thankful that there were no casualties or injuries resulting from the incident,” the statement said.

Melcom also expressed appreciation to the Ghana National Fire Service, the National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO), the Ghana Police Service, emergency personnel, and other first responders for their prompt action in controlling the situation.

According to Melcom, its management is currently collaborating with the relevant authorities to evaluate the incident and ascertain the cause of the fire, while also conducting an internal review of the damage incurred.

The company recognized that the incident has had a considerable impact on its operations but assured customers that measures are being taken to restore normal business activities with minimal disruption.

“Although this incident has heavily impacted us, we are committed to restoring operations with minimal interruptions and will do our best to ensure availability of stocks to continue to serve our esteemed customers,” it stated.

The retail giant also expressed gratitude to its employees, customers, business partners, stakeholders, and members of the public for their concern and support following the incident.
