Bank of Ghana Governor, Dr Johnson Pandit Asiama, has appointed the central bank’s Second Deputy Governor, Matilda Asante-Asiedu, to serve as his authorised representative on the Board of the Ghana Gold Board (GoldBod).
The appointment took effect on Monday, May 11, and gives Mrs Asante-Asiedu the authority to attend and fully participate in all meetings of the GoldBod Board on behalf of the Governor.
In a letter conveying the decision, the BoG Governor stated that Mrs Asante-Asiedu had been formally nominated to represent his interests on the Board and take part in its deliberations.
The Governor said the Second Deputy Governor would also exercise the rights and carry out the responsibilities assigned to him as a member of the GoldBod Board.
“I hereby appoint Mrs. Matilda Asante-Asiedu, Second Deputy Governor of the Bank of Ghana, as my authorised representative to attend and fully participate in all GoldBod Board Meetings on my behalf, effective Monday, May 11, 2026,” the letter read in part.
He explained that the appointment was made to ensure his interests were properly represented in the Board’s activities and deliberations.
“Mrs. Asante-Asiedu is duly nominated to represent my interests, contribute to deliberations, and exercise all rights and responsibilities vested in me as a member of the Board,” the letter added.
