GWL unveils board to drive G-Water growth

Ghana Water Limited (GWL) has taken a significant step toward expanding its business operations with the inauguration of a new Board of Directors for G-Water Bottling Limited, its bottled water subsidiary.

The move forms part of the company’s broader strategy to diversify its sources of income and create sustainable business opportunities beyond its core responsibility of producing and distributing potable water across the country.

G-Water Bottling Limited was established by Ghana Water Limited to manufacture, package and distribute bottled drinking water.

The company aims to provide consumers with safe and high-quality water products while operating as a commercially viable business.

The newly inaugurated board is chaired by Mr Agbesi Nutsu. Other members include Dr Hadisu Alhasan as Executive Director, Mr Sulemana Alhassan and Mr Joseph Zefo Kero as Non-Executive Directors, while Madam Innocentia Kuupiel serves as the Chief Executive Officer.

Speaking at the inauguration ceremony in Accra, Chairman of the Ghana Water Limited Board, Mr Eric J. Biliguo, described G-Water Bottling Limited as a key component of the company’s long-term growth agenda.

According to him, the G-Water brand has already gained public confidence because of its quality, purity and taste. However, he noted that limited market presence has prevented the brand from reaching its full commercial potential.

Mr Biliguo therefore challenged the newly constituted board to position G-Water as one of the most recognisable and competitive bottled water brands in Ghana.

For his part, the Managing Director of Ghana Water Limited, Mr Adam Mutawakilu, said the subsidiary provides an opportunity for the company to capitalise on its expertise in water production and quality assurance.

He explained that a successful bottled water business would not only generate additional revenue for Ghana Water Limited but also create employment opportunities, strengthen the company’s brand and contribute to national economic growth.

Responding on behalf of the board, Chairman Mr Agbesi Nutsu assured stakeholders of the board’s commitment to providing strategic direction and effective oversight.

He emphasised that the board would work diligently to ensure the company grows into a sustainable and profitable enterprise while maintaining high standards in the production and distribution of safe drinking water for consumers across the country.
