Mrs Faiza Seidu Wuni, the wife of former National Food Buffer Stock Company (NAFCO) Chief Executive Officer Abdul Hanan Abdul-Wahab Aludiba, is seeking approval from the High Court to travel to the United Kingdom for her son’s medical treatment.
Mrs Wuni, who is currently on trial alongside her husband, is requesting the court to modify her bail conditions to permit her travel. This application is set to be reviewed tomorrow, July 28.
The prosecution has expressed concerns regarding the timing of this request, pointing out that it was submitted only a few days after Mr Aludiba filed a separate application requesting permission to travel abroad for medical reasons.
Nevertheless, the defence asserts that Mrs Wuni’s application is exclusively aimed at allowing her to accompany or arrange medical care for their son in the United Kingdom.
Mr Aludiba and Mrs Wuni are facing criminal charges related to alleged financial misconduct during his time as NAFCO Chief Executive Officer.
Both individuals have pleaded not guilty and are currently on bail while awaiting the outcome of the case.
As part of their bail conditions, they must secure the court’s approval before travelling outside the jurisdiction.
The proceedings on July 28 will concentrate on Mrs Wuni’s travel application, after which the court will decide whether to amend her bail conditions.
