Fire destroys apartment at Race Course Rasta Park

The swift arrival of personnel from the Anyaa Fire Station of the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) prevented the fire from spreading to nearby apartments, although one house was fully razed by the fire.

As reported by the GNFS, the Fire Master Control received the emergency call at 6:13 p.m., and a firefighting team led by ADOII Tetteh David Quansah was dispatched just one minute later.

The firefighters reached the location at 6:33 p.m., managed to control the fire by 7:05 p.m., and completely extinguished it by 8:00 p.m.

The fire resulted in the total destruction of a one-bedroom chamber-and-hall apartment and caused partial damage to a two-bedroom chamber-and-hall apartment.

Nevertheless, the crew’s rapid response prevented the flames from spreading to five additional chamber-and-hall apartments.

No injuries or fatalities were reported.

The cause of the fire remains undetermined, as investigations are currently in progress.
