The Pilgrims Affairs Office of Ghana (PAOG) has announced changes to the final Hajj flight originally scheduled to depart from Tamale on Saturday, May 9, 2026. The flight will now leave from Accra on Monday, May 11, 2026.
In a statement issued on Friday, May 8, the office explained that the decision followed a drop in the number of pilgrims expected to travel on the final Tamale flight.
According to the PAOG, the number fell below the minimum requirement set under airline operational regulations.
Officials said the affected pilgrims would now join flights departing from Accra on Monday.
The office added that all affected pilgrims and their agents have already received information about the new arrangements.
“The adjustment is in line with operational guidelines and is intended to ensure efficiency in the airlifting process,” the statement said.
The Pilgrims Affairs Office of Ghana also thanked agents, officials, and members of the public for their support during the Tamale phase of the Hajj operations.
The office further praised pilgrims from Tamale for their discipline and cooperation throughout the exercise.
According to the statement, their compliance with instructions on luggage handling, reporting times, and general conduct helped ensure a smooth operation.
As preparations shift to Accra, the PAOG urged prospective pilgrims to maintain the same level of discipline.
The office advised travellers to report on time, follow luggage regulations, and avoid carrying prohibited items.
The Pilgrims Affairs Office of Ghana expressed confidence that the Accra phase of the Hajj operations would also be successful.
It appealed to all stakeholders to continue cooperating to ensure a smooth and organised process.
