A driver has been injured in a road accident involving the National Treasurer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr. Charles Dwamena, following a crash involving a convoy near Buipe in the Savannah Region.

The accident occurred while the party’s National Treasurer and members of his team were travelling as part of a working visit.

Sources indicate that while Dr. Dwamena and other occupants escaped without injuries, the driver of one of the vehicles in the convoy sustained injuries and was taken for medical attention.

The NPP has confirmed the incident and stated that the affected official has suspended his ongoing working visit following the accident as a precautionary measure.

Preliminary accounts suggest the convoy was involved in a crash near Buipe Township, though the exact cause of the accident has not yet been officially established.

Party officials have assured that all necessary safety protocols are being observed and that the injured driver is receiving care.
