Ahiagbah rejects Global InfoAnalytics poll ahead of NPP election

New Patriotic Party (NPP) National First Vice Chairman aspirant Richard Ahiagbah has dismissed a Global InfoAnalytics poll that places four of his contenders ahead of him ahead of Saturday’s national officers’ elections.

The poll puts Nana Akomea, Mustapha Abdul-Hamid, Henry Nana Boakye and Kodjo Fosu Boadu ahead of Mr Ahiagbah in the First Vice Chairman contest.

However, Mr Ahiagbah, who is also the NPP’s Director of Communications, says the poll will not determine the outcome of the election, arguing that the final decision rests with delegates who will cast their ballots.

He criticised Global InfoAnalytics CEO Mussa Dankwah and described the poll as part of the campaign process.

“As for Mussa Dankwah, leave him alone. I mean, we know what he does is a transactional poll that he’s putting out. But we are focused. The real poll will be what we are going to get on Saturday,” he said.

Mr Ahiagbah also urged delegates to consider regional balance and what he described as the need for strategic leadership as the party prepares for the 2028 general election.

Meanwhile, aspiring National Youth Organiser Clement Opoku Gyamfi, popularly known as CID, said the poll had motivated him to intensify his campaign and engage more delegates.

The NPP will elect its national officers on Saturday, October 3, at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi. About 7,163 delegates are expected to vote across 31 polling stations, with nine national executive positions up for election.
