Adamus rejects lease revocation, cites breach of due process

Adamus Resources Limited has rejected the government’s decision to revoke its mining leases, describing the move as a breach of due process.

In a statement, the company said it was not allowed to respond to the allegations before the decision was taken, insisting that the process did not follow established legal procedures.

Adamus stated that “the claims cited as the basis for the decision do not reflect the reality of our operations,” adding that “this action constitutes a clear breach of due process and established legal procedures.”

The company further maintained that it has always operated within the legal framework governing mining activities in Ghana, stating that “Adamus Resources Limited has at all times operated within the legal and regulatory framework governing the mining sector in Ghana”.

It also categorically denied wrongdoing, stating that “we categorically deny any involvement in illegal mining activities,” and urged the public to rely on verified information.

Adamus added that it remains open to engagement with the relevant authorities, noting that “we remain committed to engaging relevant authorities through lawful and constructive processes to resolve this matter”.

The government, however, has justified the revocation, citing regulatory breaches and concerns related to mining operations on the affected concessions.
