Twelve people, including four children, have been injured in a road crash on the accident-prone Asitey Mountain stretch in the Lower Manya Krobo Municipality of the Eastern Region.
The crash involved a Sprinter bus with registration number AS 5740-17, which was travelling from Akateng to Adidome.

The cause of the crash is yet to be determined, and police have launched an investigation.
All 12 injured passengers are receiving treatment at St. Martin de Porres Catholic Hospital in Agormanya.
Police officers who responded to the scene assisted in rescuing the victims, managed traffic to prevent further disruptions, and have begun investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash.
Confirming the incident, the Lower Manya Krobo Divisional Police Command urged motorists, especially first-time users of the Asitey Mountain stretch, to drive with extra caution.
The command also warned that the road becomes particularly dangerous during the rainy season due to slippery and challenging conditions.
