Woman flees after allegedly attacking husband with razor blade

A disturbing incident has been reported at Gbi-Avega, a community in the Hohoe Municipality of the Volta Region, where a woman identified only as Sweety allegedly attacked her estranged husband with a razor blade, leaving him injured.

According to reports, the suspect carried out the attack during a meeting with the victim, identified as Martin, who had gone to escort her to his residence to collect the remainder of her belongings following their separation two weeks ago.

Narrating the incident, Martin indicated that what began as a seemingly calm arrangement quickly turned violent.

He alleged that during the visit, Sweety unexpectedly pulled out a razor blade and inflicted several cuts on him.

The motive behind the attack remains unclear, though sources suggest tensions had been high between the couple since their separation.

Eyewitness accounts indicate that immediately after the assault, the suspect fled the scene on a waiting motorcycle, raising suspicions that the act may have been premeditated.

The couple reportedly have two children together, one aged three years and the other just over a year old, who are now at the centre of concern following the violent episode between their parents.

Martin sustained multiple injuries from the razor blade attack and is currently receiving medical treatment in a hospital.

Police are expected to commence a full investigation into the matter as residents call for swift justice.
