NPP demands compensation for Kasoa traders

Leaders of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in Awutu Senya East have spoken out against the recent demolition at Kasoa Market, which has affected nearly 1,000 small traders.

They say the demolition has made life very difficult for these traders, as many of them have lost their main source of income. Because of this, the party is asking the government to quickly pay compensation to those affected to help them recover.

At a press conference, the constituency secretary criticised how the whole exercise was carried out. The Campaign Coordinator, Kojo Anim, also described the situation as very unfair and harsh on the traders, many of whom are already struggling.

Some party members also urged the Member of Parliament for the area to meet with the affected traders and listen to their concerns.

They added that the actions of the Municipal Assembly and the Municipal Chief Executive were worrying and showed a lack of care for the people involved.
