Four people, including a pregnant woman and her daughter, have tragically lost their lives in a devastating road accident involving a Sinotruk HOWO tipper truck at Kinkinlin, located near Makango in the East Gonja Municipality of the Savannah Region.
The unfortunate event took place around 5:00 a.m. on Thursday, as a group of women and girls were en route to their farms to gather shea nuts.
According to eyewitness accounts, the tipper truck, bearing registration number GB-2359-20, swerved out of its lane, crossed into the opposite lane, and struck the victims from behind before overturning.
A total of five individuals were impacted by the accident. Four succumbed to their injuries instantly at the scene.
At the same time, one survivor suffered severe injuries and was promptly transported to the Salaga Government Hospital before being referred to the Tamale Teaching Hospital for additional care.
The deceased are reported to include a pregnant woman and her daughter, along with another woman and her daughter, plunging the Kinkinlin community into deep mourning.
