Senegalese-American singer and rapper Aliaune Damala Badara Akon Thiam has shared his thoughts on relationships, saying life felt simpler when he dated more than one woman at the same time.

The 53-year-old revisited his past relationships and openly discussed his views on love and commitment. He has long supported polygamy and did not hide his opinion during the conversation.

Akon explained that he now finds life more challenging in a monogamous relationship. He said his earlier lifestyle brought less stress compared to his current situation with one partner.

“My life was a lot easier when I had multiple women surrounding me. It is a lot harder with just one woman,” he said.

His remarks have triggered mixed reactions on social media, with many users debating his perspective on relationships and polygamy.

The comments also come months after his wife of 28 years, Tomeka Thiam, filed for divorce, citing irreconcilable differences.

He made these comments during an interview on Metro Punch.
