The 27th Telecel Ghana Music Awards (TGMA 27) turned the Grand Arena into a night full of excitement, celebration and unforgettable performances as Ghana’s biggest music stars were honoured for their hard work and achievements.
The biggest winner of the night was Black Sherif, who was crowned Artiste of the Year for the second time after first winning the award in 2023.
The “Iron Boy” hitmaker had an incredible night, taking home five awards in total and proving once again why he remains one of the most influential young artistes in Africa today.
Much of the attention during the night was on the competition between Black Sherif and Medikal. Medikal also had a successful evening, winning four awards, including Best Hiplife/Hip-Hop Artiste and Best Collaboration for the hit song Shoulder.
Other artistes who enjoyed successful nights included Kofi Kinaata, who won two awards, and Moliy, who also grabbed two awards thanks to the international success of the Shake It To The Max remix.

One of the emotional moments of the night came when legendary Highlife musician Daddy Lumba received the Lifetime Achievement Award for his enormous contribution to Ghanaian music over the years.
The awards night also celebrated gospel, rap, reggae, Afrobeats and Highlife musicians, showing the richness and diversity of Ghana’s music industry.
For many fans, the night belonged to Black Sherif, whose consistency, emotional storytelling and international success continue to push Ghanaian music onto the global stage.
