Diana Hamilton has once again proven why she is one of Ghana’s most respected gospel musicians after winning Best Gospel Artiste of the Year at the 27th Telecel Ghana Music Awards.
The awards ceremony was held on Saturday, May 9, 2026, at the Grand Arena, where the “Adom” singer returned to the top of the gospel category with another major win.
The Best Gospel Artiste category was highly competitive this year, with Diana Hamilton facing strong competition from some of Ghana’s top gospel musicians, including:
- Piesie Esther
- MOG Music
- Kofi Owusu Peprah
- Mabel Okyere
- Nana Yaw Ofori-Atta
Many music lovers and industry watchers believe her popular song Aha Ye (The Good Place) played a major role in her victory. The song, which features South African gospel singer Ntokozo Mbambo and Ghanaian gospel legend Elder Mireku, became one of the most played gospel songs in the country during the year.
The song was praised for its inspiring message, beautiful production and powerful blend of traditional gospel sounds with a modern style.
The award recognises more than just singing ability. It also celebrates an artiste’s overall impact, including their influence in the gospel industry, performances, online presence and contribution to uplifting people through music.
When Diana Hamilton stepped on stage to receive the award, she looked emotional and grateful. She dedicated the award to the “Master of the Universe” and thanked her fans, team and fellow gospel musicians for their support.
She also praised the other nominees and said the win was not only for her but for gospel music and ministry in Ghana as a whole.
This latest achievement adds to Diana Hamilton’s already impressive career. In 2021, she made history by becoming one of the few gospel musicians to win the overall Artiste of the Year award at the TGMAs.
