University of Ghana warns public against fake notice on resumption dates and hall fees

The University of Ghana (UG) has warned its community and the general public against a fraudulent notice circulating on social media that contains false information about resumption dates and hall allocation fees for the 2026/2027 academic year.

Dated Wednesday, October 14, 2026, the notice alleges that fresh students are required to report to the university on Thursday, October 15, and pay GH¢2,000 per semester for hall accommodation.

It further claims that continuing students would be charged GH¢4,300 per semester to secure accommodation in the university’s regular halls and Diaspora halls.
