Community members made efforts to find them, but these proved unsuccessful until about 5:00 a.m. on Monday, October 5, when their bodies were found in the boot of a black Hyundai Tucson with registration number AS 1770-14.

The Police said the vehicle was found stuck in mud along a road leading to the area.

A preliminary inspection of the vehicle revealed that the driver’s door and the rear passenger door behind the driver’s seat were open, while the remaining doors, including the boot, were locked.

Police investigations have established that the vehicle belongs to a member of the Ghana Immigration Service, who told investigators that it had been stuck in the mud for about five days.

In a statement issued on October 5, the Northern Regional Police Command said it had begun investigations into the circumstances surrounding the deaths.
