The newly elected National Second Vice Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Henry Nana Boakye, has pledged to collaborate with the party’s leadership and members to secure a return to power in the 2028 general elections.
Henry Nana Boakye, popularly known as Nana B, thanked delegates for electing him to the position at the party’s recently concluded National Delegates Conference in Kumasi.
He described his election as both a promotion and an honour, emphasising his readiness to work with the party’s leadership towards the NPP’s return to government.
“I am exceedingly grateful to our delegates for electing me as the National 2nd Vice Chairman of our great party. After serving our party as National Youth Organiser and National Organiser over the last 8 years, I take promotion with great honour and pledge to join forces with our able leadership in ensuring that by the grace of God, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia is elected President of the Republic of Ghana in the 2028 General elections”.
The new leadership is expected to spearhead the party’s reorganisation and mobilisation efforts ahead of the 2028 general elections, following the NPP’s defeat in the 2024 elections.
Nana B said the task before the new executives was clearly defined, adding that they must work together to strengthen the party and mount a strong challenge against the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the next election.
“Our Job is clearly cut out for us and we would work to present a formidable front that will wrestle power from this repressive NDC government.”
He also congratulated the NPP and its members on what he described as a successful electoral process, while calling on the newly elected officers to work together to achieve the party’s political objectives.
“I congratulate us all for a very successful process. To fellow elected officers congratulations let’s work together to deliver power for the NPP.”
The National Second Vice Chairman also urged the new executives to maintain unity and cooperation as the party begins preparations for the next general elections.
