The Pilgrims Affairs Office of Ghana (PAOG) has cautioned prospective Hajj 2027 pilgrims and the general public against a misleading flyer circulating on social media that claims a September 26, 2026, deadline for the payment of Hajj fares.
In a statement, PAOG described the information contained in the flyer as false, unverified, and misleading, and urged the public to disregard it.
The Office said the circulation of the flyer appeared intended to create confusion and anxiety among prospective pilgrims and the wider public.
PAOG stressed that it has not announced September 26, 2026 as a deadline for Hajj 2027 fare payments.
The Office further advised prospective pilgrims to rely only on information issued through its verified official channels and the Secretariat responsible for Hajj Affairs.
According to PAOG, all official announcements concerning Hajj 2027, including information on fare payments and deadlines, will be communicated through the appropriate official channels.
The Office specifically directed prospective pilgrims to rely on information from the PAOG Communications Directorate and cautioned them against unofficial sources.
PAOG also appealed to the public to help combat misinformation by sharing only verified information and reporting suspicious or faceless sources circulating false claims about Hajj 2027.
