The National Organiser of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Henry Nana Boakye, popularly known as Nana B, says the recent developments surrounding drug trafficking in Ghana have become a major international embarrassment for the country.
Speaking at a press conference in Accra on Tuesday, September 22, 2026, Nana B said the situation was worrying and required urgent attention from the government.
“What is going on is a huge international disgrace and embarrassment to the country,” he said.
Nana B was speaking about recent drug trafficking cases involving Ghana, which he said have raised serious concerns about the country’s image and efforts to combat the illicit drug trade.
He said the government must take the fight against narcotics trafficking more seriously and strengthen measures to prevent Ghana from being used as a route for illegal drugs.
He maintained that the country’s response to the situation must be firm enough to protect Ghana’s international reputation and strengthen public confidence in the fight against illicit drugs.
