Ghana’s Black Maidens continued their impressive campaign in the WAFU Zone B Girls Cup with a commanding 4-0 victory over Togo in their third match of the tournament.
The young Ghanaian side wasted little time asserting their authority, taking the lead just three minutes into the game.
Gloria Ameaa opened the scoring with a composed finish to give Ghana an early advantage and set the tone for what became a dominant performance.
The Black Maidens continued to apply pressure and were rewarded again in the ninth minute when they were awarded a penalty.
Seidatu Wahab stepped up and confidently converted from the spot to double Ghana’s lead.
Togo struggled to cope with Ghana’s attacking pressure and found it difficult to create clear opportunities as the Black Maidens controlled possession and dictated the pace of the game.
Ghana went into the half-time break with a comfortable 2-0 lead.
The second half followed a similar pattern, with the Black Maidens continuing to threaten the Togolese defence.
Ameaa came close to scoring her second goal in the 54th minute after producing a dangerous effort, but her attempt narrowly missed the target.
Ghana eventually found the breakthrough again in the 59th minute through Linda Owusu Ansah, who extended the lead to 3-0.
Owusu Ansah was not finished, however, as she struck again 10 minutes later to complete her brace and put Ghana four goals ahead.
The Black Maidens comfortably managed the remainder of the game to secure a convincing 4-0 victory.
The result further strengthens Ghana’s campaign as the team continues its push for honours in the WAFU Zone B Girls Cup.
