A 41-year-old accounts clerk of Klo-Agogo Senior High School has been arrested by the police in connection with the alleged defilement of a 15-year-old Junior High School student.
The suspect, identified as Saviour Attor, was arrested at Obawale in the Yilo Krobo Municipality following a complaint involving the teenage girl.
According to the report, the victim alleged that the suspect sent her to buy a sachet of water before allegedly forcing her to have sexual intercourse with him.
The incident is said to have involved unprotected sexual intercourse.
Following the complaint, police arrested the suspect and later handed him over to the Domestic Violence and Victim Support Unit (DOVVSU) for further investigation.
The suspect is reported to have admitted having sexual intercourse with the victim in a cautioned statement to the police. Details surrounding the circumstances of the alleged incident remain under investigation.
The case has since been taken up by DOVVSU, which is responsible for investigating cases involving domestic violence, sexual offences and other forms of abuse.
The suspect remains in police custody as investigations continue.
