The Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) has warned prospective students and parents to be careful of people and online platforms claiming to help with admissions, hall allocation and room bookings.
In a statement issued on Thursday, September 17, 2026, the University said it had noticed an increase in social media posts, WhatsApp groups, websites and other online platforms claiming to provide official information or assistance with admissions and accommodation.
KNUST explained that only officially approved University offices and platforms are allowed to provide information and assistance on admissions, fees, accommodation and hall bookings.
The University urged students and parents to be careful when dealing with individuals or groups who claim they can secure admission, guarantee a place in a hall or arrange rooms for them.
KNUST also warned applicants not to send money, admission details, passwords or personal documents to anyone claiming to represent the University.
It reminded applicants that their KNUST Admissions Portal login details are private and should not be shared with other people.
The University advised prospective students to rely on information published on its official website, knust.edu.gh, for updates on admissions and accommodation.
Applicants can also contact the KNUST Admissions Office on 024 013 0946, 020 133 2812 or 054 020 6262. The official KNUST WhatsApp contact is 024 013 0946, while the Telegram contact is 050 048 2807.
KNUST said students who use these official channels can better protect themselves from fraudsters targeting people looking for admission and accommodation.
