The Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Christian Tetteh Yohuno, has honoured Inspector Hance Atubra from the Tarkwa Divisional Headquarters by promoting him to the rank of Chief Inspector.
Inspector Atubra was called to the National Police Headquarters in Accra on Monday, August 31, 2026, where the IGP officially decorated him in light of his promotion.
This advancement was awarded in recognition of his bravery and outstanding efforts in saving lives and safeguarding property during a fire incident at Aboso in the Western Region on August 26, 2026.
The IGP praised Inspector Atubra for his bravery, swift action, and commitment to duty during the event.
Mr. Yohuno stated that the officer’s actions exemplified the values of professionalism, courage, and service that are expected of members of the Ghana Police Service.
Inspector Atubra’s decisive actions during the fire outbreak led to his recognition for risking his own life to assist others and protect property.
The Police Administration emphasised that his promotion highlights its dedication to acknowledging officers who exhibit exceptional bravery and commitment in their duties.
