The Ministry of Education has accepted the requests made by some parents, guardians, students, and school heads for additional time to finalise the submission and uploading of student data onto the platforms of the West African Examinations Council (WAEC) and the Computerised School Selection and Placement System (CSSPS).
In response to these requests, the ministry has decided to postpone the release of the 2026/2027 CSSPS results from Monday, August 31, 2026, to Friday, September 4, 2026.
This extension will allow all eligible students to complete the necessary processes and ensure their information is accurately recorded in the system for placement in senior high schools (SHS) and Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) institutions,” a statement issued by the Ministry said.
According to the ministry’s data, approximately 20,000 qualified students have not yet had their school choices uploaded to the CSSPS platform by their heads of schools, parents, or guardians.
The extension, it said, was designed to ensure that outstanding data submissions do not hinder these students from participating in the placement process.
“Parents, guardians, students, and heads of schools are strongly urged to use this extension to submit and upload all outstanding information within the stipulated period.
“The ministry remains committed to a fair, transparent, efficient, and orderly placement process that gives every qualified student a meaningful opportunity to secure placement in a SHS or TVET institution” he added.
