GES denies releasing prospectus for 2026 BECE graduates

The Ghana Education Service (GES) has refuted allegations that it has issued the prospectus for students who have recently completed the 2026 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE).

The service clarified that a list of items currently circulating on social media, which is being presented as the official prospectus for the 2025/26 academic year, is not an authorised document from GES.

In a statement, GES Management urged the public, especially parents and prospective senior high school students, to disregard the circulating list.

“GES Management has not released a prospectus for students. Kindly ignore any list of items circulating in the media,” the service stated.

This clarification comes in response to the distribution of a document featuring the GES name and logo, which enumerates items that students are allegedly required to provide, such as clothing, toiletries, bedding, stationery, and other personal effects.

The document also includes lists of items for students across various programme categories and suggests that certain supplies should be acquired through designated channels.

GES emphasised that this document should not be used as a reference for preparing students for admission.

“The official and finalised prospectus shall be communicated in due time,” the service added.
