Ghana’s senior women’s national team, the Black Queens, have returned to training as they shift their attention to their final Group C match against Mali on Thursday, August 6, in the ongoing competition.
The team resumed preparations after their previous group game against Cameroon, with the technical team focusing on recovery and tactical adjustments ahead of the important fixture.
Monday’s training session was largely dedicated to helping players recover from the physical demands of the Cameroon match.
Those who played significant minutes underwent light exercises and recovery activities designed to restore their energy levels and prevent injuries.
The rest of the squad took part in a more intensive training programme as preparations for the Mali encounter increased.
The coaching team used the session to assess the players’ condition and continue developing strategies for the decisive group-stage game.
Despite the challenges faced in the group, the mood within the Black Queens camp remains positive, with players and officials determined to secure qualification to the knockout stage.
Head coach Kim Lars Björkegren and his technical team are working to fine-tune their approach as Ghana prepare for what is expected to be a difficult contest against Mali.
The Black Queens know that the result against Mali could determine their chances of progressing to the quarter-finals. As a result, the team is focused on delivering a strong performance and securing the needed outcome to keep their campaign alive.
