The group stage pairings for the 2026 Elite U-17 Girls Colts Championship have been announced ahead of the tournament scheduled to take place from July 30 to August 4, 2026, at the Ghana Football Association (GFA) Technical Centre in Prampram.
The six-day competition will bring together champions from ten regions across Ghana, alongside the Elite Academy, with the participating teams divided into two groups following the official draw.
Group A consists of Greater Accra, Brong Ahafo, Upper East, Central and Western Regions, while Group B includes Northern, Ashanti, Upper West, Eastern and Volta Regions, as well as the Elite Academy.
The championship forms part of the GFA’s broader women’s football development programme under the FIFA Talent Development Scheme, aimed at identifying, nurturing and providing competitive opportunities for promising young female footballers.
Organisers say the tournament will offer the players a valuable platform to demonstrate their skills, gain experience and compete in a high-level environment that supports their development.
The competition is also expected to play an important role in strengthening grassroots women’s football across the country by bringing together some of the best young talents from different regions.
The event is part of ongoing efforts by football authorities to build a strong foundation for women’s football by investing in youth development and creating pathways for talented players to progress to higher levels of the game.
