PSG part ways with Renato Sanches

Paris Saint-Germain have ended Renato Sanches’ contract, allowing the Portuguese midfielder to leave the club as a free agent.

The decision means Sanches is now available to join another club without a transfer fee.

The 28-year-old midfielder joined Paris Saint-Germain in 2022 from Lille after impressing during his time with the French club.

However, he struggled to establish himself as a regular player at PSG due to injuries and competition for places in the team.

Sanches spent part of his time away from PSG on loan. He returned to Benfica for the 2023/24 season before later moving to Roma on loan.

His time at PSG was affected by several injury problems, which limited his appearances and made it difficult for him to build a regular run of games.

Sanches started his career at Benfica and quickly gained attention as one of Portugal’s most promising young midfielders.

He was part of Portugal’s squad that won the 2016 European Championship and was named the tournament’s Young Player.

He later moved to Bayern Munich before joining Lille, where he enjoyed one of the strongest periods of his career. His performances helped Lille win the French Ligue 1 title during the 2020/21 season.

However, his career has been affected by injuries in recent years.
