Traffic was briefly disrupted on the Accra–Madina road on Friday, June 5, 2026, after a Kia Rhino truck transporting crates of Club Beer overturned near the Shangri-La bus stop.
According to eyewitnesses, the incident happened when a trotro mate halted traffic to help a passenger cross the road.
A vehicle ahead of the truck suddenly stopped, forcing the driver of the beer-loaded truck to apply the brakes abruptly.
In an attempt to avoid crashing into the vehicle in front, the driver reportedly swerved but lost control, causing the truck to overturn.
The impact scattered several crates of beer across the road, with many bottles smashed on impact.
Commuters and nearby residents quickly rushed to the scene to help manage the situation, while some of the cargo was later recovered.
The accident caused temporary traffic congestion along the busy stretch as motorists slowed down to pass the scene.
Fortunately, no injuries or deaths were recorded.
