Jose Mourinho agrees three-year Real Madrid deal

Portuguese manager José Mourinho is reportedly set to return to Real Madrid for a second spell as head coach after signing a three-year contract with the Spanish giants.

According to reports, Mourinho signed the agreement last week and is expected to be officially announced after the club’s upcoming presidential election.

Current president Florentino Pérez is widely expected to continue in his role, which could clear the way for the Portuguese coach’s return to the Santiago Bernabéu.

The experienced manager is said to be leaving Benfica to take charge of Real Madrid once again.

Mourinho previously managed the club from 2010 to 2013, guiding them to a La Liga title, a Copa del Rey trophy and a Spanish Super Cup during a highly competitive era in Spanish football.

His first spell at Madrid was remembered for intense battles with rivals Barcelona and for building a strong and competitive squad that later became the foundation for the club’s future European success.

Reports suggest Real Madrid turned to Mourinho after a disappointing season in which the club failed to win a major trophy.

Club officials are believed to be looking for an experienced coach capable of rebuilding the team and restoring its dominance both in Spain and Europe.
