A 27-year-old man, identified as Kwadwo Richmond, is currently on the run after allegedly killing his friend over a GH¢20 disagreement at Asante Akyem Asuboah in the Ashanti Region.

The victim, known only as Evis, reportedly had a conflict with Richmond after he allegedly failed to provide the GH¢20 he had previously promised.

According to reports, the two people met outside the community, where the dispute escalated into a fierce confrontation. During the altercation, Richmond is alleged to have assaulted Evis with a cutlass.

The Unit Committee Chairman for the Area, Mr. Kwabena Ofori Atta, confirmed the incident in an interview monitored by The Ghana Report on OTEC News.

He disclosed that the tragic incident occurred on the evening of Sunday, May 3, 2026, and the suspect has since been on the run.

Meanwhile, police say investigations are ongoing, with efforts to arrest the suspect.
